The story   ·  物語

Why this scent exists.

Blossoms of Spring is built around a Kyoto-spring memory: the path through Maruyama Park in the dawn light, just as the shidare-zakura begin to release their petals. Soft, sensitive-skin friendly, alcohol-free.

Blossoms of Spring sits close to the skin — a soft, romantic solid perfume built around a Kyoto-spring memory: the path through Maruyama Park as the shidare-zakura release their petals at dawn.

It opens with orange blossom and white peach — bright, sun-warmed, sweet without sugar — held in place by a pulse of peony. The heart unfolds into the central image: peach blossom, cherry blossom, and plum blossom layered like overlapping branches, the air thick with petal-fall. The dry-down is quiet and woody — almond marzipan, a thread of incense from a passing shrine, white musk close to the skin, and Kitayama Sugi cypress like a beam of cool temple wood.

Best worn: spring afternoons under a flowering tree, hanami picnics, the days you want to carry a slow Kyoto morning with you.

City of inspiration 京都

Kyoto

Kansai · Hanami season

Blossoms of Spring is a love letter to Kyoto in early April — when the city's shidare-zakura come into heavy bloom and the path through Maruyama Park feels like walking under a slow snow of petals.

Kyoto's hanami is a culture, not just a season. Locals walk the temple paths before dawn to see the cherries before the crowds, share homemade rice balls under the trees, and sit until the petals start falling.

We tried to bottle that walk — the sweet warmth of orange blossom in the morning air, peach-sweet wind through the canopy, and the resinous-cool trail of incense from a nearby shrine.

FAQ

Quiet questions, answered.

How long does the scent last?

On skin, Sayuri balms project close-to-body for 3–5 hours and leave a soft dry-down that can linger up to 8. Because the formula is oil-based, the scent stays intimate rather than filling a room.

Is it safe for sensitive skin?

Yes — our base is organic beeswax, jojoba, shea and cocoa butter, with no alcohol, parabens, or synthetic fixatives. We recommend a small patch test on the inner wrist if you're new to solid perfumes.

Can I fly with it?

Yes. A Sayuri compact is a solid, not a liquid, so TSA/EASA liquid rules don't apply. It tucks into a coat pocket or the corner of a carry-on.

How should I store it?

Keep your compact out of direct sunlight and below 25°C / 77°F. If it ever softens in heat, let it rest in a cool spot overnight — it returns to its original texture without losing scent.

Is it cruelty-free?

Always. No animal testing, ever. Our beeswax comes from small Japanese and European apiaries that practice sustainable hive management.
