東京の夜  · the story

Walking Ginza after the rain.

The story   ·  物語

Why this scent exists.

Tokyo Nights is the cool magnetic sophistication of Ginza after dark — mint, bergamot, cardamom layered over hinoki, cedarwood, and vetiver. A grounded smoky-woody scent for autumn and winter evenings.

Tokyo Nights sits cool and magnetic on the skin — a smoky aromatic-woody solid perfume built around Ginza after midnight, when the rain has just stopped and the wet pavement reflects every lantern.

It opens with mint and bergamot — cold against the warm air leaking from a cocktail bar. The heart is the side street: lily of the valley flowering in a planter, cardamom from an opening doorway, mitti attar — the smell of rain on warm earth — drifting up from the wet stones. The base is the architecture and the trail behind it: hinoki cypress, cedarwood, and dark vetiver, grounded smoke that lingers like the memory of the night.

Best worn: autumn and winter evenings, late dinners, anytime you want the city to slow down with you.

City of inspiration 東京・銀座

Tokyo · Ginza

Kanto · After dark

Tokyo Nights is a love letter to Ginza after midnight — the sleek, slow-burning side of Tokyo, when the cocktail bars start emptying and the wet pavements reflect amber lanterns and cool neon.

Ginza after dark is the most adult Tokyo gets. The luxury storefronts have closed; the late-night bars are warming up; the rain — there's always rain, in this memory — has just stopped, and the streets reflect every light on the block.

We tried to bottle that walk between bars: cool mint and bergamot in the air, a thread of cardamom from a doorway, the deep grounding presence of hinoki and vetiver under everything.

FAQ

Quiet questions, answered.

How long does the scent last?

On skin, Sayuri balms project close-to-body for 3–5 hours and leave a soft dry-down that can linger up to 8. Because the formula is oil-based, the scent stays intimate rather than filling a room.

Is it safe for sensitive skin?

Yes — our base is organic beeswax, jojoba, shea and cocoa butter, with no alcohol, parabens, or synthetic fixatives. We recommend a small patch test on the inner wrist if you're new to solid perfumes.

Can I fly with it?

Yes. A Sayuri compact is a solid, not a liquid, so TSA/EASA liquid rules don't apply. It tucks into a coat pocket or the corner of a carry-on.

How should I store it?

Keep your compact out of direct sunlight and below 25°C / 77°F. If it ever softens in heat, let it rest in a cool spot overnight — it returns to its original texture without losing scent.

Is it cruelty-free?

Always. No animal testing, ever. Our beeswax comes from small Japanese and European apiaries that practice sustainable hive management.
